I know this dude, Chip. Chip works over at the NEVERDONE shop in KC and has a super dope motorcycle. I ran into him not too long ago at a Blip Roasters motorcycle meet in the Westbottoms and after seeing his bike in person, I knew a shoot had to go down.
I was at work at Austin Walsh Studio doing my usual thing on a rainy Wednesday morning. My boss, Austin Walsh, came in and said he has a pretty dope loaner car and tossed me the keys. He asked if I had any rainy car photos in mind and asked me to go for it. Well, I had no ideas, no locations, but if someone hands you a set of keys, you take the shit and run before they decide to say no.
The past few weeks at my work, Austin Walsh Studio, our studio producer Katy Raggett has been telling us stories about her brother, Tyler, who just came back stateside after spending two years in Rwanda in the Peace Corps. While Tyler’s been back he started a plan to obtain a vehicle in which he can essentially call home base while trekking around the nation at will. Well, he found that car and he made his way towards Kansas City. I knew I had to photograph this thing.
This weekend I had the pleasure of meeting up with Sukhmeet Kamboj, the owner of an amazingly clean Volkswagen GTI MK6. The forecast predicted 50% chance of rain and we decided to take our chances.
Bring it on, world.
A few days ago my boss Austin, (Austin Walsh Studio), had to get his SUV taken into the dealership for some maintenance. The dealership sent him on his way with a nice loaner for the day and the first thing he says when he get’s into work is, “Hey, I got a new car for you to shoot.” That car, would be this diesel powered Audi S3 TDI.
Awhile back in the land of Kansas City the winter temperatures decided that it had overstayed its welcome. And with the departure of insanely cold days comes the warmer weather and people take their car builds out of winter mode and put their summer wheels back on the salt free roads. And with all of this comes the first car meet I’ve attended this year, the Project G Racing get together over spring break.
I recently took a break from life and visited Arizona with my girlfriend Sarah Terranova aka Cucina & Camera. We flew in from KC and arrived in Phoenix late at night and the first thing we had to do was pick a rental car.
A few weeks ago I contacted Jayhawk Motorsports. They invited me down to the shop where they built their racecars.
